Choose Your Own Adventure at DIFF 2015 Family Day!

17124883521_75ec849492_hWith so many activities and events to choose from, attending this year’s Family Day was like stepping into a ‘choose your own adventure’ novel!


Director of Membership, Education and Outreach, Renee Contreras Kicked Things off at the 2015 Dallas International Film Festival Family Day!


Presented by CBS-11 and TXA-21 with support from Downtown Dallas, Inc. The 2015 Family Day began with a visit from the Dallas Zoo at 2 p.m. and continued throughout the evening with a Special Sundown screening of PEE WEE’S BIG ADVENTURE!

The remainder of the day’s itinerary kept film lovers of all ages movin’ and shakin’ with plenty of music and dancing!

Ongoing activities included hula hoop and paper plane contests, face-painting, a bounce house, balloon animals and caricature portraits!


Screen Shot 2015-04-22 at 8.30.25 AMAs sunset approached, a Pee-Wee Herman costume contest took place just before the outdoor screening.

And the winner of the contest… This little cutie, hands down!

L.M. Kit Carson (Posthumously)
Lone Star State legend and influential writer, actor and producer Carson first gained recognition as creator of the mockumentary, DAVID HOLZMAN’s DIARY (1968), and co-wrote PARIS, TEXAS (1984).

Blythe Danner
Danner is well regarded for her roles in films such as MEET THE PARENTS and THE GREAT SANTINI. The Emmy-winning and Golden Globe-nominated actress is alos know for her work on television shows such as Will & Grace and Huff.

John Landis
A director for more than 40 years, Landis' films include NATIONAL LAMPOON’S ANIMAL HOUSE (1980), THE BLUES BROTHERS (1978) and AN AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON (1981).
