Family Day at Klyde Warren Park, April 11

Posted on by

DIFF 2015 Family DayWith a bit of carnival flair, Family Day includes activities, musicians and performances for filmgoers of all ages. The entirely FREE day of fun kicks off at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 11 at Klyde Warren Park in downtown Dallas and concludes with a free 30th-anniversary outdoor screening of Tim Burton’s classic comedy PEE-WEE’S BIG ADVENTURE.

ONGOING ACTIVITIES

At Family Day there is never a dull moment. Between scheduled sessions young film fans can show off their hula hooping skills, make paper planes, get their faces painted, jump in the bounce house, have Univision TV/Radio do a caricature portrait, and visit our balloon artist at the CBS 11 tent to request their favorite balloon animals—or stop by to love on some real-life furry friends from Operation Kindness. Kids can also take part in a variety of arts and crafts activities inspired by characters from PEE-WEE’S BIG ADVENTURE. Movie lovers of all ages can channel their inner Pee-Wee Herman on a biking adventure of their own. Bring your bike to join in on a 10-mile ride at 3 p.m. hosted by Slow Spokes DFW. Before the evening screening begins, we will also host a Pee-Wee Herman costume contest, so grab your red bowtie and show up dressed to impress!

Food trucks will be serving up tasty goodies throughout the afternoon and evening.
