Welcome to DIFF 2015

DFS15-0008-LaurelWelcome to the 9th annual Dallas International Film Festival, presented by AutoNation and a production of the Dallas Film Society.

For more than a century, the art of film has captured the magic of human imagination and the trials of the human spirit. Guided by the steady stream of new technology, film today is a powerful force that can give a voice to the voiceless and push the boundaries of what we consider possible.

It is our mission to encourage this universal art form by bringing to Dallas quality independent films from around the world and by promoting our own local filmmakers on an international stage. North Texas filmmakers and the Dallas film community continue to grow, producing inspirational and entertaining works that capture the attention and respect of the international cinematic community.

This year, we also celebrate the films of Germany with a showcase of films that investigates the complex facets of that country’s cinematic heritage.

We give endless thanks to our hardworking team of DIFF volunteers, our Board of Directors, Festival committees and juries, and our dedicated Festival staff. Without the concerted efforts of all involved, this 11-day celebration, with more than 160 films from 32 countries, multiple events and panel discussions.

We are also immensely grateful for the philanthropic spirit of our sponsors, donors and Dallas Film Society members. Your support directly benefits the artistic enrichment of Dallas, Texas and beyond.

And of course we must thank the filmmakers, those passionate individuals who work tirelessly to channel their creativity into films that inspire, excite, unnerve and amaze.

We welcome you all, and we look forward to seeing you at this year’s celebration.

With gratitude,
